There are some things that just INSTANTLY overwhelm me - and the cabinet under the sink stuffed full of different cleaning bottles is top three. Here is how Castile soap and I have conquered that cabinet.
Pure Castile Soap is the IT GIRL of versatile all-purpose cleaning soap. It has hundreds of uses but only two ingredients; distilled water & saponified olive oil. What’s saponification? it means using an alkali to turn a fat into a soap. Also it's just kind of fun to say too.
The Environmental Working group labels this one of the best options with low concerns for cancer, allergies, immunotoxicity, developmental and reproductive toxicity, and no use restrictions. It’s even safe for septic and grey water systems.
Here are a few of my favorite ways to use Castil Soap around the house...
Floors, counters, tubs, walls: 1-2 tablespoons to one gallon of hot water
Toilets: sprinkle baking soda in and scrub, flush. Pour 1/2 tablespoon of soap into the bowl, scrub, then flush
All-Purpose Cleaner Spray - 2 fluid ounces of soap in a bottle with a couple of drops of your favorite essential oil, fill with warm distilled or RO water.
Baby wipes - whether you are using an old wipe container or a jar and reusable wipes. fill up a little over half way with warm water and add one squirt of castile soap
Stain Remover - a couple drops on a laundry stain before washing
Hand soap, body wash, pet shampoo - use it full strength, add essential oils, or don't.
The under-sink can hold basically just one thing now right? Let me know what other ways you use it, and if you haven't tried it before - let me know if you liked it!
